About Emily

Emily loves her work as a dietician because she is passionate about helping people restore a healthy relationship with food and their bodies. She feels privileged to have a job that allows her to make a positive difference in people’s lives on a daily basis.

After completing  a B.Sc. in Dietetics through Stellenbosch University in 2009, Emily worked as a dietician at a hospital in the Eastern Cape for her community service year.  She then returned to Cape Town in 2011 and opened her own private practice, where she has worked ever since. Emily has also done plenty of corporate health work, work for the Woolworths ‘Making a difference’ education program, nutrition talks and presentations, and contributions to many magazine articles, online health articles, as well as TV segments.

Emily has done additional training to further equip her to help people with eating disorders and disordered eating. I love helping people to ditch dieting and rather work towards establishing a happy, healthy relationship with food and their bodies. The relief and freedom that people feel when they ditch dieting, is so wonderful to be a part of. I was particularly inspired to study further in this direction, as ditching dieting and embracing intuitive eating has made a profound impact on my own personal relationship with food and my quality of life.

Emily is married to Steve and they have 2 kids – Noah who is 8 and Zara who is 4. Other than working with clients, Emily enjoys running; surfing; travelling; being in nature; and most of all spending time with her family.
